Training Days
Teachers are required to undertake five professional learning days during the school year. Some of these days are for mandatory training such as health & safety and safeguarding and other days are for teaching and pedagogy development. An additional day has been provided to schools as we develop and embed the new Curriculum for Wales. The dates for this year’s professional learning days are listed below.
On these days, the school is closed to pupils.

- Training Day 1 – Friday 1st September (first two days of the school year) 2023
- Training Day 2 – Monday 4th September (first two days of the school year) 2023
- Training Day 3 – Friday 22nd December 2023 (last day of Autumn Term)
- Training Day 4 – Monday 8th January 2024 (first day of Spring Term)
- Training Day 5 – Monday 8th April 2024 (first Day of Summer Term)
- Training Day 6 – Friday 19th July 2024 (last day of Summer Term)
