Training Days
Teachers are required to undertake five professional learning days during the school year. Some of these days are for mandatory training such as health & safety and safeguarding, and other days are for teaching and pedagogy development. An additional day has been provided to schools as we develop and embed the Curriculum for Wales. The dates for this year’s professional learning days are listed below.
On these days, the school is closed to pupils.

- Training Day 1 – Monday 1st September 2025 (first two days of the school year)
- Training Day 2 – Tuesday 2nd September 2025 (first two days of the school year)

- Training Day 4 – Monday 5 January 2026
- Training Day 5 – Monday 13 April 2026
- Training Day 6 – Monday 20th July 2026
