We are proud to work in close partnership with Gwent Police and Newport Schools to help keep our children safe, happy and well informed. Our dedicated School Community Police Officers are familiar faces around the school and work closely with staff and pupils throughout the year. They visits classes to deliver sessions on important topics such as personal safety, online safety, anti-social behaviour, healthy relationships and making positive choices, while also supporting the school community by promoting safe parking and road safety around the school site. One of the highlights of this partnership is our Heddlu Bach (Mini Police) Club, where pupils develop leadership skills, learn about policing and community responsibility, and take part in projects that make a positive difference to both the school and the wider community. Through Heddlu Bach, children become excellent role models, promoting respect, kindness, safety and active citizenship while building strong relationships with local police officers and gaining a greater understanding of their role in keeping our communities safer.
