About us

VOICE stands for Valuing, Opportunities for Investigative and  Child-Led Enquiry. We are the St. Julian’s Primary School VOICE club members. There are fourteen of us in total ranging from Y4-Y6.  We meet weekly and present during assemblies, at least once a month.  Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) says that children and young people should have a say in decisions that affect their lives.

What we do

As VOICE members, we have the following job description:

  • To write an action plan for the year ahead
  • To  come up with two research questions and answer them throughout the year.  This will include creating questionnaires and interviewing pupils/staff
  • We will be reflective learners when analysing the data we collect
  • The Super Ambassadors will attend training and  deliver assemblies to the pupils on ‘The Rights of a Child’
  • We will present our findings to the Newport schools involved in the Pupil Participation Learning Network, to St.Julian’s Primary pupils and to the Governing Body
  • We will evaluate our action plan at the end of the year and identify our strengths and areas to improve for the following year
