We have had such a wonderful Autumn B term, filled with learning, creativity and festive excitement.
The children have become increasingly independent, especially during snack time, confidently choosing their food, helping themselves and tidying up afterwards. They have worked so hard to recognise our sound of the week and have shown fantastic enthusiasm in all our phonics activities. We also enjoyed a lovely Stay and Play session where families joined us in nursery to take part in the activities we do every day and discover ideas they can use at home too. Our theme at the start of this term was all about hedgehogs, and the children loved learning about them —making hedgehogs out of clay, drawing them on Seesaw, and even creating a hedgehog house as our end-of-theme project. We were delighted to welcome visitors from the Gwent Wildlife Trust, who shared lots of fascinating information during their hedgehog talk. As December arrived, the excitement grew with a visit from Santa and aspecial Elf Day, where two elves from the North Pole visited us for a day of festive fun. We spent time making Christmas cards, decorations, reindeer food, Christmas cookies and 2026 calendars, filling the nursery with creativity and Christmas cheer. To finish the term in the most magical way, the children performed a fantastic Christmas concert, ‘Nursery Rhyme Nativity’, sharing songs, actions and plenty of confidence. It has been a busy term, and we are so proud of everything the children have achieved.
We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back in January and meeting new friends who are due to join our nursery!
