Welsh Department’s Criw Cymraeg

Well, what a term we’ve had! We have been working our socks off for the past few years to try and achieve the Cymraeg Campus Arian (Silver) award in line with the Welsh Government’s target of having a million Welsh speakers by 2050. This has involved our Criw Cymraeg children learning new skills to teach their classes and staff, holding events and using Welsh phrases with parents and community members, testing and making games and activities for classes to complete, and holding weekly assemblies to teach children new language patterns. Weekly videos of these phrases have been shared on Dojo throughout the year to encourage our families to support the Government’s aim and support us as well, in turn.

We finally had the visit from the EAS ladies! They spent a few hours being bamboozled by our Cymraeg brilliance before declaring us a CYMRAEG CAMPUS ARIAN SCHOOL 🥳 All Criw Cymraeg’s hard work paid off, and I’m so proud of their dedication and commitment to Welsh in our school. Da iawn, Criw Cymraeg and diolch for being so awesome!

Joia’r haf (enjoy the summer), pawb (everyone) and remember to check out the apps on our website if you want to improve your own Welsh at home.
