What a fantastic half term it has been in Year 3! We’ve been busy learning, creating, and having so much fun together. Here’s a little look at everything we’ve been up to:

RVE Workshop
We were very lucky to have Rachel lead an exciting RVE workshop. The children explored some important topics and really enjoyed sharing their thoughts and ideas.
Gwent Music – Ukulele Lessons
This term, we started our 10-week ukulele sessions with Miss H and we are loving every minute! We’ve already learned so many new skills and can’t wait to show off our progress in the main performance at the end of the course.

French Live Lessons
Every week, we’ve joined live French lessons which have been so much fun. We’ve learnt lots of new French words and phrases, including greetings, numbers, and the months of the year. We can’t wait to keep practising and improve even more!
Gateway Rugby
Mr Davies’ class has really enjoyed our Gateway Rugby sessions for PE this term. We’ve learnt lots of new rugby skills and have had a great time working as a team.
Disco Project
We’ve been working super hard to plan the Year 3/4 PTA school disco. First, we chose our snacks by voting and turned our results into a tally chart and a digital graph. Next, we compared prices at different supermarkets to see which was the cheapest. We also looked at costs for the disco, calculated potential profit, and decided on a fair ticket price per child. Finally, we created exciting posters to promote the event!
Extreme Earth Theme
To end our theme, Extreme Earth, the children have been learning all about volcanoes – where they are located, the cross-section of a volcano, and how they erupt. In STEM, we explored different vinegars and bicarbonate of soda to test which combination would create the best eruption. Then, we got creative and made our own volcano models, painted them, and finally erupted them using the best vinegar. It was so much fun and very exciting to see science in action!

Eisteddfod Story Writing
To end the week, we’ve been writing our own independent stories for the Eisteddfod story writing competition. We can’t wait to share them and take part after half term.
We hope you all have a wonderful half term break. Rest, relax, and get ready for another brilliant half term ahead – we can’t wait to see you all soon!
