Year 4 Autumn B

🎉 Year 4 – What a Busy and Brilliant Term! 🎉

Our Year 4 children have had an exciting and creative term full of learning and memorable experiences!

In English and History, the children created their own comic books about the Gunpowder Plot, built Tudor houses, and then burnt them safely to re-enact the Great Fire of London, helping them gain a deeper understanding of how and why the fire spread so quickly. The children also wrote newspaper reports about the Great Fire of London and took things a step further by creating their own news channels, where they presented their reports like real journalists. They edited and presented their newspaper reports digitally, using Apple Macs to edit their videos and make them look professional, while developing fantastic computing and communication skills.

In STEM, the children explored the human skeleton and digestive system and carried out an investigation using eggs to show the impact sugary drinks can have on our teeth, helping them understand the importance of healthy choices.

Music has been a highlight this term. The children learnt and performed Christmas songs on the keyboard, took part in a wonderful Christmas concert, and enjoyed a special visit to Glyn Anwen, where they proudly sang “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”, spreading festive cheer in the community.

As part of our real-life learning experiences, some children visited Aldi to shop for food for Christmas dinner making day, practising budgeting, teamwork and independence.

We are incredibly proud of Year 4 for their creativity, curiosity and enthusiasm. Well done to all the children for such a fantastic term! 🌟🎄
