🎓 Farewell, Year 6 – What a Journey! 🎓
As the summer holidays approach and our wonderful Year 6 children prepare to turn the page to the next exciting chapter of their education, we want to take a moment to reflect on what has been a truly memorable final half term at primary school.
These last few weeks have been packed with experiences that have challenged, inspired and celebrated everything our children have become. From adventurous residentials to thought-provoking workshops and show-stopping performances, Year 6 have certainly ended their time here on a high.
✨ Careers Morning – Opening Eyes to Future Possibilities
One of the standout events this term was our Careers Morning, which offered a fascinating glimpse into the world beyond school. We were incredibly fortunate to welcome professionals from a wide range of industries: a mechanic (and parent of one of our children!), a firefighter, a professional sportsman, the brilliant team from Norse, County in the Community, Forces Fitness, a health visitor, representatives from Celtic Manor, the police, and even someone from the semiconductor industry.
This inspiring morning allowed our children to ask questions, explore aspirations and start dreaming big about what their futures might hold. A huge thank you to everyone who generously gave their time and expertise to make this such a valuable experience.
🔋 Earth Energy Education – Solar Power in Action
Sustainability came to life during our interactive solar panel workshop with Earth Energy Education. The children learned how solar energy works and why it’s such an important part of our planet’s future. The session was hands-on and eye-opening, sparking thoughtful discussion and a renewed enthusiasm for protecting the environment.
🧠 Escape Room Challenge – Maths Meets Mystery
A group of our talented mathematicians were invited to take part in a fast-paced and exciting Escape Room Challenge, expertly led by Miss Vers. With tricky puzzles to solve and the clock ticking, teamwork, logic and sharp thinking were the keys to success. A brilliant way to apply maths in a fun and memorable way!
🎭 Matilda – A Show to Remember
What a way to bow out! Our Year 6 production of Matilda was an absolute triumph. From dazzling performances to confident solos and perfectly timed comedy, the children took to the stage with pride and passion. The show was a celebration of creativity, courage, and the power of working together. A huge well done to all involved – it truly was a performance to remember.
🌊 Llangrannog Residential – Adventure, Laughter and Lasting Memories
A much-loved highlight of the year, our residential weekend at Llangrannog was filled with fun, adventure and friendship. The children embraced a wide range of activities – from climbing and zip-lining to beach walks and team challenges – all while developing independence and resilience. It was a fantastic opportunity to create lasting memories together before moving on to pastures new.

🎓 Graduation Ceremony – Celebrating the Journey
To mark the end of their primary school journey, our Year 6 children took part in a very special Graduation Ceremony. With proud families in attendance, each child crossed the stage to receive their gift and reflect on their achievements. It was a joyful and emotional celebration of how far they have come – a moment to pause, be proud, and look ahead with excitement. Thank you to all who joined us to make the day so meaningful.
