Back to School – September 2019

Well it’s the final weekend of the summer break and nearly time to welcome our wonderful St. Julian’s family back to school! We hope you’ve all had a brilliant summer and a good rest! We’re really looking forward to seeing everyone and hearing about the great things you’ve been doing through the summer.
Please see the information below which outlines the starting times and where your child should be dropped off and collected. If you have any urgent queries, please contact us using this online form and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Reminder: Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd September are Staff Training Days.

Nursery Pupils

Parents of new nursery pupils have already been given individual starting dates and times for their children. If you are not aware of when your child should be attending, please contact us using this online form and we will get back to you on Monday 2nd September. Once your child has attended their initial starting session for 1-hour, they will then return each day for the same hour until Monday 9th September where they will begin attending either morning or afternoon full sessions.
Older ‘Rising 3’ children from the last academic year will start back on Monday 9th September.
Children who were given a place over the summer break and don’t know their start time will be contacted on Monday 9th September.

Reception Pupils (pupils who were in Nursery last year)

Mon 2nd Sep – Staff Training Day (School Closed to pupils)
Tues 3rd Sep – Staff Training Day (School Closed to pupils)
Pupils who were previously in our morning nursery will be in from 9am – 11:40am on Wed 4th, Thurs 5th and Friday 6th September.
Pupils who were previously in our afternoon nursery will be in from 1:10pm – 3:00pm on Wed 4th, Thurs 5th and Friday 6th September.

*Any pupils who did not attend St. Julian’s Primary School Nursery should attend during the afternoon sessions on Wed 4th, Thurs 5th and Friday 6th September.

All reception pupils will then start full time from Monday 9th September 2019 (8:45am – 3:10pm)

Foundation Phase Pupils – where to bring and collect pupils:

Class 1 – Miss Rawlings will meet pupils at 8:45am at her classroom door. Parents should collect pupils from the same door after school.
Class 2 – Miss Welsh will meet pupils at 8:45am at her classroom door. Parents should collect pupils from the same door after school.
Class 3 – Mrs Beynon (formerly Miss Ward) will meet pupils at 8:45am at her classroom door. Parents should collect pupils from the same door after school.
Class 4 – Mrs Hill will meet pupils at 8:45am at her classroom door. Parents should collect pupils from the same door after school.
Class 5 – Mrs Sefton will meet pupils at 8:45am at her classroom door. Parents should collect pupils from the same door after school.
Class 6 – Miss Butcher will meet pupils at 8:45am at the double doors closest to the outdoor classroom area. Parents should collect pupils from the same door after school.
Class 7 – Mrs Hando/Mrs Tucker will meet pupils at 8:45am at the double doors closest to the outdoor classroom area. Parents should collect pupils from the same door after school.
Class 8 – Miss Jones will meet pupils at 8:45am at the double doors closest to the outdoor classroom area. Parents should collect pupils from the main Foundation Phase entrance at the front of the building after school.
Class 9 – Miss Rounds will meet pupils at 8:45am at the Class 9 Door (facing the school field). Parents should collect pupils from the same door after school.

Key Stage 2 Pupils:

Please make sure your child is on the front junior yard before 8:55am. Teachers will meet their new classes on the front playground each morning. Signs will also be on display on the playground to show children where to line up and where parents should collect their children from, at the end of the day.

Communication

We communicate with parents in a variety of ways. Please make sure that our office has your correct mobile number and email address on file, so you can receive text message notifications and our half-termly newsletters.

Please also sign up to Class Dojo/download the app for your phone, so you can follow your child’s activities in class. More information here.

Equipment

We provide pens/pencils, schools books and stationery. Older pupils may wish to bring their own pencil case, blue pen, pencil and ruler.

We encourage all pupils to bring a water bottle to school each day.

Uniform

All pupils are expected to wear school uniform. More information here.

Children must have a PE kit in school: White t-shirt, black shorts and black daps. Where PE/Games lessons are outside, pupils may wish to wear a sports top, jogging bottoms and trainers. Your child’s teacher will inform you when your child has PE/Games lessons.

Breakfast Club


Pupils who were existing members of the breakfast club can continue attending from Wednesday 4th September 2019.
Pupils who wish to join our breakfast club (including new reception pupils) must first register with the school office. We will notify you when there are spaces available for your child to join. More information here.
