About us

We are the Criw Cymraeg members. We meet every Thursday to discuss how we can promote Welsh in and around the school. We have 15 members in total, ranging from Year 1 – Year 6. We want children to feel proud to be able to communicate using the Welsh language. Our aim is to encourage children to love the Welsh language and culture and to feel a sense of pride to be a part of it.

What we do

As Criw Cymraeg, we have given ourselves the following job description…

  • Promote a Welsh ethos in St Julian’s Primary school by encouraging learners to speak Welsh
  • Deliver the Phrase of the Week in assembly every Tuesday
  • Implement Cymraeg Campus and gather evidence to achieve our school targets
  • Teach Welsh games on the Year 3/4 yard twice weekly
