Mission to Move More Launch

Today marked the exciting launch of our Mission to Move More initiative—and what a fantastic start it was!

Children from Year 3 to Year 6 kicked things off by receiving their very own active wristbands this morning. These clever devices track daily steps and active minutes, helping pupils to see just how much movement they’re achieving throughout the day.

It didn’t take long for the competitive spirit to kick in! At breaktime and lunchtime, the playground was buzzing with energy as children walked, ran and played with even more enthusiasm than usual—keen to boost their step counts and get moving.

Throughout the day, pupils were able to tap their wristbands on classroom readers, which sync their activity data with our online system. It’s been brilliant to see children so engaged and motivated by tracking their progress in real time.

This afternoon, we made the most of the beautiful weather with a whole junior school workout on the field. Led by the ever-energetic Mr Jones, pupils (and staff!) were put through their paces with a fun and lively session. It was fantastic to see teachers joining in too—proving that staying active is important for everyone.

Being active and exercising regularly is so important for our physical health, but it also has huge benefits for our mental wellbeing—helping us feel happier, more focused and ready to learn.

To keep the momentum going, we’ll be celebrating success every week. Each Friday in assembly, we’ll be announcing a range of awards and handing out some great prizes. We’ll also be sharing our weekly activity stats with families via ClassDojo, so you can see just how active our pupils have been!

We’re incredibly proud of the enthusiasm shown today – let’s keep moving, St Julian’s! 💪

Enjoy the video of our first day…
