What a Wonderful Half Term We’ve Had in Nursery!
Wow—what a fun-filled and fantastic half term it’s been in Nursery!
We’ve had such an exciting few weeks exploring the wonderful world of minibeasts. The children have been absolutely fascinated as we learned all about the tiny creatures that live in our gardens and woodlands. One of our highlights was watching our caterpillars grow, change, and finally hatch into beautiful butterflies. The children were mesmerised by the transformation—it was truly magical to witness!
And that’s not all! We also had a group of ladybird larvae, and the children were just as excited watching them grow and hatch too. Once they were ready, we set them all free into the garden and said our goodbyes with big smiles and proud hearts.
The children loved getting hands-on in the nursery garden, becoming mini explorers as they searched for real-life minibeasts. There were lots of squeals of excitement and wonder as they discovered worms, beetles, spiders, and more hiding among the plants and soil.
Another special moment this term was our Creative Festival performance. The children were absolute stars and gave such a confident and joyful performance—we were all so proud of their efforts and creativity.
We also had an amazing time on our trip to Beechwood Park. The sun was shining, the laughs were plenty, and the children had a brilliant time exploring, playing, and making memories together.
To top it all off, we ended the half term by welcoming our wonderful families into nursery for our Booknic—a lovely picnic-style reading session filled with stories, sunshine, and smiles. Thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us—it was so special to share that time with you!
As we head into the next half term with the children who are staying, we’re already looking forward to more adventures, learning, and fun together. Thank you to all our amazing nursery children for making this half term so brilliant—you’ve all been stars! To all of those moving up to Reception, well done you’ve been amazing and we’ll all miss you so much!
Have a lovely summer break everyone!
