What a fantastic final term we have had in Reception! It has been a busy and exciting few weeks filled with lots of learning, creativity and fun.
Our topic this term was “Who Lives at the Zoo and What Do They Do?” We discovered lots of fascinating facts about different animals and explored the habitats they call home. We learnt how animals are specially adapted to live in their environments and enjoyed finding out how zookeepers help to care for them.
One of the highlights of the term was our exciting visit to Bristol Zoo Project. We loved seeing many of the animals we had been learning about and enjoyed exploring their habitats. It was a wonderful opportunity to bring our classroom learning to life and create some amazing memories together.
Inspired by The Tiger Who Came to Tea, we planned our very own tiger picnic! We thought carefully about the foods we would include and then made our own delicious sandwiches to enjoy. It was a fantastic way to develop our independence while having lots of fun.
We were also incredibly proud to perform in our Creative Festival. The children showed great confidence, enthusiasm and teamwork, and it was wonderful to share our talents with our families and the school community.
As part of getting ready for the next stage of our learning journey, we enjoyed meeting our new teachers on Transition Day. The children embraced the experience with excitement and curiosity, and we know they are ready for the adventures that await them in September.
We are so proud of everything the children have achieved this year. They have grown in confidence, independence and kindness, and it has been a joy to watch them learn and flourish.
We hope all of our Reception families have a wonderful, restful summer break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September for another exciting year of learning!
