Year 2 visit Moriah Baptist Church

On Tuesday 1st December, Year 2 visited Moriah Baptist Church.  At the church, we were treated to a selection of Christmas activities, which included Christmas card making and biscuit decorating.  We made some colourful biscuits which we wanted to eat straight away (Miss. Havard, Miss. Dowsell and Mr. Prewett said we needed to wait until we went home ).

After we had finished the Christmas activities we were taken on an adventure to investigate the Christmas Story.  Before we entered each room at Moriah Baptist Church, we looked through the key hole to see who was in the room.  On our journey we visited Mary and Joseph’s home, the shepherds on the hills and the kings.  We even bumped into some donkeys! Finally we ended up in a small stable, with a glowing star above us and baby Jesus in the manger.  It was a brilliant day!

When we arrived back at school we drew a map of where we had been and what we had done.  Together each class used actions to act out their adventure….hopefully this will help us later in the week to write an exciting recount of our wonderful day at Moriah Baptist Church.

Take a look at some of our pictures from the trip…
