Year 2 enjoyed their fantastic trip to the Wetlands today. We were greeted by Tara and her helpers when we arrived. We completed lots of activities throughout the day. We made bird feeders from cheerios and got to take these home. We went on a bird walk to see what birds we could spot. We loved using the binoculars to see how many birds were on the reserve. We impressed Steve with our bird knowledge and learnt lots of new bird names. The last activity we completed was in the woods. Tara talked to us about birds and their habitats. We discussed what bird nests look like and what they are made of. We went off in pairs to make a nest for a bird. We used twigs, sticks and leaves. Some groups used mud to stick the twigs together to make it stronger. Tara loved our nests. Thank you to Tara and her helpers for a lovely day!
