🌞 Celebrating a Fantastic Final Half Term in Year 6
As the summer holidays approach and our wonderful Year 6 children prepare to begin the next exciting chapter of their education, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on what has been a truly memorable final half term at primary school.
The past few weeks have been packed with experiences that have challenged, inspired and celebrated everything our children have become. From exciting workshops and unforgettable performances to residential adventures and transition activities, Year 6 have certainly ended their primary school journey on a high.
🚓 Anti-Social Behaviour Workshop – Making Positive Choices
Year 6 welcomed the Youth Justice Team for an engaging workshop exploring anti-social behaviour, personal responsibility and making positive choices. Through real-life scenarios and thoughtful discussions, the children gained a greater understanding of the impact our actions can have on others and the importance of making responsible decisions as they prepare for secondary school.
🩺 Medical Mavericks Workshop – Inspiring Future Careers
Our children enjoyed an exciting Medical Mavericks workshop, where they had the opportunity to use genuine medical equipment and technology used by healthcare professionals. From measuring lung capacity and muscle strength to investigating heart rates, the session brought science to life while inspiring many children to consider future careers within the NHS and medical professions.
💼 Careers Day – Opening Doors to Future Possibilities
Our annual Careers Day was once again a huge success, giving Year 6 an insight into an incredible range of professions. We were delighted to welcome visitors including a Tesco HGV driver, the Police, a mechanic, Cyson Cymru, bridge engineers, Forces Fitness, professionals from the semiconductor industry and a plumber.
The children asked thoughtful questions, discovered exciting career pathways and gained a greater appreciation of the many opportunities available to them in the future. A huge thank you to everyone who generously gave their time to inspire our pupils.
🎭 Aladdin – A Show to Remember
What a spectacular way to bow out! Our Year 6 production of Aladdin was an absolute triumph. From outstanding acting and confident solo performances to perfectly timed comedy and energetic dance routines, the children took to the stage with confidence, enthusiasm and pride.
Every child played an important role in making the production such a success, and it was wonderful to see their creativity, resilience and teamwork shine throughout. We couldn’t be prouder of every single performer and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make the show so memorable.
🌊 Llangrannog Residential – Adventure, Friendship and Confidence
A much-loved highlight of the year, our residential visit to Llangrannog was packed with adventure, laughter and unforgettable memories. From climbing and zip-lining to beach walks and team challenges, the children embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and determination.
The weekend helped develop independence, resilience and teamwork, while strengthening friendships that will last long after they leave primary school. It was a fantastic way to celebrate their final weeks together.

🎓 Preparing for Year 7
As part of their transition to secondary school, Year 6 took part in a number of valuable experiences to help them feel confident and prepared for September.
The children met with the Head of Year 7, alongside three former pupils who shared their own experiences of moving to secondary school, answered questions and offered helpful advice. They also enjoyed their official Transition Day at their comprehensive schools, giving them the opportunity to explore their new surroundings, meet teachers and begin making new friendships.
To further support their wellbeing, Year 6 also participated in a CAMHS Transition Workshop, where they discussed emotions, managing change and strategies to help them approach this exciting new chapter with confidence.
🏅 Sports Day – Teamwork and Determination
Sports Day was another wonderful opportunity for Year 6 to demonstrate resilience, teamwork and determination. Whether competing on the track, taking part in field events or cheering on their classmates, every child showed fantastic sportsmanship and represented the school with pride.
🎓 Graduation Ceremony – Celebrating the Journey
To mark the end of their primary school journey, our Year 6 children took part in a very special Graduation Ceremony. With proud families in attendance, each child crossed the stage to celebrate their achievements and reflect on everything they have accomplished during their time at St. Julian’s.
It was a joyful and emotional celebration filled with smiles, proud moments and excitement for the future. Thank you to everyone who joined us to make the occasion so special.
