What a fantastic half term we have had in Year 4! It has been packed full of exciting learning opportunities, trips, visitors and activities. We have all worked incredibly hard and should be very proud of everything we have achieved.

One of the highlights of our half term was completing our three-week swimming course. Everyone showed great determination and confidence in the water, and it was wonderful to see our swimming skills improve each week.

In our topic work, we have loved learning all about rivers. We explored how rivers are formed and discovered the different stages of a river’s journey. We even walked over to the Pernals to sketch our local river and observe its features carefully. We can now confidently label and explain the journey of a river from source to mouth.

We were very lucky to have visitors come into school to support our learning. The RNLI visited us to teach us all about staying safe in and around water. We also had a visit from Dŵr Cymru, who taught us about how water travels into our homes and the important process behind keeping our water clean and safe.

Another exciting part of our learning was taking part in class debates about whether beavers should be reintroduced into Wales. We shared thoughtful opinions, listened carefully to each other and used evidence to support our ideas.

This half term, we have also loved taking part in PE sessions with County in the Community. We have developed our teamwork and sporting skills and cannot wait for the sessions to continue next half term.

To finish off our busy half term, we visited the cookery suite and made delicious pizzas with Cook Wales. We had so much fun preparing and cooking our food, and of course, tasting it too!

What a busy and exciting half term it has been! We cannot wait to see what the next half term brings for Year 4.
